Mr. Le Viet Hai – BOD’s Chairman – CEO received the “Vietnam Value” emblem at the proclamation ceremony of participant enterprises to the “Vietnam Value Program”, organized at 8pm of May 26, 2010 at the Great Theatre in Hanoi.
The “Vietnam Value Program” was approved by the Prime Minister by Decision No. 253/2003/QĐ-TTg of 25-11-2003, assigning the Ministry of Trade (now the Ministry of Industry – Commerce) to be the standing ministry to coordinate with the related ministries, branches to proceed to its development. The program is oriented to the purpose of building the image of Vietnam as a prestigious nation on diverse goods and services with abundance and high quality.

Based on the learning of experiences from foreign models, the Vietnam Value Council has directed the building of a scientific norms system, appropriate with Vietnamese practice to select the product brand names to participate to the program. The chosen Vietnamese brand names should be prestigious ones as regards their clients, possessing a durable development orientation, concrete and long-term policies and planning for brand name development, sufficient resources to support growth, and simultaneously committing to determine to reach the program’s values.
The first program in 2008 had over 1000 enterprises that registered to study to participate to the program; the 1st round had succeeded to select 156 enterprises that had satisfactorily performed their quality management systems in compliance with international standards, satisfactorily fulfill their duties of taxing, customs, environment, social insurance for laborers. 106 of those 156 passing enterprises in the preliminary examination round had satisfactorily met all selection criteria to enter round 2 after a details check of their records by the Program Secretariat and the related State authorities: General Ministry of Science and Technology, General Directorate of Taxes Administration, General Directorate of Customs (Ministry of Finance), General Directorate of Statistics (Ministry of Planning and Investment), Environment Protection Service (Ministry of Resource and Environment), Labor and jobs Service (Ministry of Labor – Invalids & Social Affairs), Credit Information Center (State Bank), Food Hygiene Safety Service (Ministry of Health)
In round 2, the Ministry of Industry –Trade invited top rank experts in the production and service industries in Vietnam to participate to the Council of specialist units to examine and evaluate the records, and simultaneously organized a direct inspection and assessment at the enterprises of various specialized industries. To assure the related objectivity, The Program Secretariat invited Taylor Nielsen Sofres (TNS), a top marketing research company in Vietnam, to make a survey on sociology, consumers’ trend research on acknowledgement and understanding as regards the 106 brand names, in order to have a positive knowledge of each brand name countrywide.
After summing up the related marketing research results, records assessment results and field investigation results, the Council of specialist units and 100% of invited experts unanimously passed 30 products/ services brand names of the 30 enterprises that fully gathered all conditions to participate to the Vietnam Value Program.

In the organization agenda of the Program, it will make each other year a selection of meriting brand names to represent Vietnamese brand names.
The Program 2-2010 was promoted since the end of 2009 with 2,000 enterprises that have registered to participate. After many steps of selection, survey, and assessment, 43 enterprises with brand names gathering all conditions to participate were chosen. Of which, 16 are new enterprises and 2 of program 1 continue to be selected for program 2.
